Queen’s University

Queens University is a community, 175 years of ritual, academic excellence, research, and a beautiful waterfront campus made of limestone buildings and modern facilities. Queens is one of Canada’s oldest degree-granting institutions and has swayed Canadian higher education since 1841 when the Royal Charter of Queen Victoria formed it. The university balances quality in undergraduate studies with well-established and pioneering graduate programs within a dynamic learning environment. At Queens, students can make their degree as exceptional as they are. It offers several programs to meet students’ particular needs for career development and individual growth, including articulation agreements, cotutelle programs, and dual degree or double degree options.
There are more than 125 graduate degree programs, including cross-faculty, interdisciplinary, and cooperative programs and traversing all disciplines at Queen’s. This range of informed choices and breadth in research strength has made Queens the destination of choice of more than 4,000 graduate students. Queens is a full-spectrum, research-concentrated university that conducts leading-edge research in various parts, including computational science and engineering, globalization studies, mental health, basic and clinical biomedical sciences, healthy environments and sustainable energy systems, and social issues such as surveillance, poverty, and bullying. The campus has a fully unified network of six libraries. It is home to several outstanding museums and arts facilities, including the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts. The arts play a principal starring role in life at Queen’s and Kingston, from art galleries to theatrical productions and live music venues.
The variation of skills and entertainment choices for students to get involved in or appreciate as a community member make the student experience at Queen’s one of a kind. Students join in more than 20 different recreation clubs at university, ranging from archery and climbing to squash and tennis, along with multiple fields of dancing, martial arts, and gymnastics. It recommends more than 30 fitness classes per week, such as Yoga, Pilates, cardio, cycle dance, strength, and swimming. Queen’s is in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, half-way between Montreal and Toronto, two of Canada’s biggest cities.
Scholarships and grants are types of aid that do not need to be repaid. They may take the form of scholarships from Queens University or need-based grants, federal or state grants, or outside scholarships. Application time limits may apply to certain types of aid.
